Star Orrery

Star Orrery is a 5-reel, 3-row game with 10 lines, set in an old observatory. Moon orbs carry coin values of 0.5 to 10 times the spin cost. Six or more orbs at once lock in place and start 3 respins, and every new orb sets the respins back to 3.

Rules

How Star Orrery plays

  1. Each spin plays 10 lines, paying 3, 4 or 5 matching symbols from reel 1. Every cell is drawn on its own, so one reel can show 2 or 3 moon orbs.
  2. The sun is wild and stands in for every symbol except the moon orb. Three, four or five suns from the left pay 100, 400 or 1,500 times the line cost.
  3. Each moon orb shows a value: 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 5 or 10 times the spin cost. Fewer than six orbs pay nothing.
  4. Six or more orbs start the respins. The orbs stay, the other cells clear, and on each respin every empty cell has a 8% chance of a new orb. A new orb sets the respins back to 3.
  5. The round ends when the respins run out or all 15 cells hold an orb. It pays the values of every orb on the grid added together.

The feature

Hold and respin with moon orbs

In our test six orbs came together on 1 spin in 53. Part of this game's return comes from the orbs rather than the lines, so wins on lines are rarer (1 spin in 4.5 returned anything); the biggest round returned 156 times the spin cost.

Star Orrery: a brass orrery and a telescope dome under a starry sky with a comet
The cover shows a brass orrery with its planets on curved arms, a ringed planet and a red planet in the sky, a comet, a celestial globe and an hourglass on the desk, and the open dome with its telescope. Comet, ringed planet and globe pay the most; red planet, ice planet, hourglass and sextant pay the least.

What pays

Symbols and pays in Star Orrery

At 100 coins a spin on 10 lines, a line costs 10 coins, so three comet symbols from reel 1 pay 60 × 10 = 600 coins.

Pays in multiples of the line cost (spin cost divided by the number of lines).
